Breitling Watches Tips
Here are some tips to get you to keep your watch free-from-repairs for as long as possible.
Watch Shock
Years of wearing it everywhere, especially of indulging in physical activity and its edges may chip away. You’re also always pushing in and out the hands of the dial, bumping your hand onto desks and walls, and indulging in heavy physical activity –and it can damage you’re the crown of your watch.
Your Breitling may be strong, but it’s not entirely resistant to wear and tear. So remove your watch when you undertake heavy labor.
Temperature
The most important thing to remember would be to keep your watch out of direct sunlight –the UV rays can be really damaging to the inner gears of the Breitling. The ideal temperature is 60 degrees. If you’re not wearing the watch, simply store it in a cool and dry place.
Straps
If you live in a humid city next to the sea, simply avoid buying a leather strap in the first place –those don’t react well to water.
Avoid the sun, water, cosmetic and chemical exposure of your leather strap if you have it. You can always switch to a steel or rubber strap later on as well –they’re much more resistant to different climatic conditions.
Rinsing and Cleaning
If you’ve accidentally immersed your Breitling in chlorinated swimming pool water, it’s inner mechanism starts corroding –run it under a stream of clean, non-chlorinated tap water immediately.
If you’re exposing your watch to constant sweat and dust, it cannot only cause external skin-irritancy but internal rusting and oxidation as well. You can prevent this by occasionally running your watch under liquid soap-soaked tap water.
If the strap is made of leather, chose alternative non-water based cleaning methods like polishing the crown with wet clothes and so on.
Water Resistance
Remember that the ‘water-resistance’ label on your Breitling does not mean ‘water-proof’. So don’t constantly immerse yourself in water with the watch on, it can only take a resistance water pressure up to a certain degree.
