Tiffany & Co and Patek Philippe Announce The Limited Nautilus 5711
December 8, 2021Back in January 0f 2021, Patek Philippe unexpectedly announced that it would no longer produce the Nautilus 5711, causing prices of pre-owned pieces to soar. The stainless steel model already sold for approximately $30,000, and the cessation of production saw auction prices for the 5711 climb into the six figures. What was a complex process to obtain the watch for all but a few buyers became next to impossible? The 5711 was created in 2006 and quickly became the most popular Patek model among buyers. Like other popular stainless steel models from Rolex and Audemars Piguet, the Nautilus became rare to find new at retail stores, and waiting lists spanned years.
How Limited Is The Patek Philippe 5711?
In addition to the Tiffany blue hued dial, the limited edition pieces will be stamped with both “Patek Philippe” and “Tiffany & Co.” at the 12 o’clock position. The case back will have an inscription that reads “170th Anniversary 1851-2021 Tiffany & Co. – Patek Philippe.” The CEO of Patek, Thierry Stern, also stated that he put a small surprise on the back of each piece for the buyers to discover on their own, and did not elaborate on what it could be.
Patek is leaving the decision of which clients get the opportunity to purchase the 170 watches up to the three individual Tiffany boutiques so there are sure to be many well heeled potential buyers who are wildly disappointed at not receiving a call.
